Chicken Tikka

Chicken Tikka is a popular Indian dish that involves marinating chicken pieces in a blend of yogurt and spices, and then grilling or baking them until they are perfectly cooked and infused with flavor. Here's a basic recipe for Chicken Tikka:

Ingredients:

1.5 pounds (about 700g) boneless, skinless chicken pieces (breast or thigh), cut into bite-sized cubes

1 cup plain yogurt

2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste

1 tablespoon red chili powder

1 tablespoon turmeric powder

1 tablespoon garam masala

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon ground coriander

Salt to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Lemon wedges and fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, salt, and vegetable oil to make the marinade.

Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, making sure each piece is well coated.

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to penetrate the chicken.

Preheat your grill or oven to a high temperature (about 400°F or 200°C).

Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers.

Grill or bake the chicken skewers until they are cooked through and have a nice char on the edges.

This usually takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on the method and temperature.

Once cooked, garnish the Chicken Tikka with lemon wedges and fresh coriander.

Serve Chicken Tikka with naan bread, rice, or as part of a larger Indian meal.

You can also accompany it with mint chutney or yogurt sauce for added flavor.

Enjoy your delicious Chicken Tikka!
